Origami Lion Instructions – Learn How to Make a Lion Out of Paper

Origami, the art of paper folding, is an activity that has been enjoyed by children and adults alike for many centuries. Origami is a fun and creative way to make something unique and beautiful out of a single sheet of paper. One of the most popular origami projects is to make a lion out of paper. Here are some easy instructions to follow if you are looking to make your own paper lion.

Gather Supplies

To make an origami lion, you will need the following supplies: a sheet of paper, scissors, a ruler, a pencil, glue, and a pair of tweezers. You can use any type of paper, but it is best to use a square sheet of paper for this project. You can buy square origami paper from any craft store, or you can make your own by cutting a square from a larger sheet of paper. The size of the paper will determine the size of your finished lion, so choose a size that is appropriate for your project.

Fold the Paper

Once you have the supplies, it is time to start folding. Start by folding the paper in half both ways on the diagonal. This will create a diamond shape. Once the paper is folded, use the pencil to draw a line down the center of the diamond. This line will be the center of your lion. Now, fold the paper in half again on the diagonal. This will create two triangular shapes.

Next, fold the two triangular shapes in half so that the long sides come together. This will create a smaller diamond shape. Now, fold the diamond in half, so that the long sides come together. This will create a small triangle. Finally, fold the triangle in half again, so that the long sides come together. You should now have a small square shape.

Cut and Glue

Now that the paper is folded, it is time to cut and glue the pieces. Using the scissors, cut down the line that you drew in the center of the diamond shape. This will create two pieces of paper. Now, use the tweezers to pick up one of the pieces and glue it to the other piece. This will create the body of the lion.

Once the body is glued together, use the scissors to cut two small circles in the upper part of the body. These will be the eyes of the lion. Now, use the tweezers to pick up the circles and glue them to the body. You should now have a basic lion shape.

Finishing Touches

Now that you have the basic shape of the lion, it is time to add some finishing touches. Use the scissors to cut two triangles for the ears. Glue them to the top of the lion’s head. You can also add a tail to the back of the lion. Use the scissors to cut a long, thin rectangle and glue it to the back of the lion.

Finally, you can add some details to the lion by drawing on a nose and mouth. You can also use markers to color in the eyes and the body of the lion. Once you are satisfied with the look of your origami lion, you can display it proudly!

Making an origami lion is a great way to get creative and have fun. It is also a great way to learn the art of origami. With these easy instructions, you can make your own origami lion in no time. So grab some paper and get started!
