Create a Fun Graham Cracker Train Craft with Your Kids

The holidays are fast approaching and so are the opportunities to spend quality time with your family. What better way to do this than to have fun making crafts together? Here’s a simple, yet fun craft idea that you can do with your kids using graham crackers – a Graham Cracker Train!

Ingredients:

To make this fun and easy craft, you’ll need a few basic ingredients: graham crackers, icing, candy pieces, food coloring and some wax paper. You can also add other decorations, such as small toy figures, to make the craft even more creative and fun.

Instructions:

Start by laying out the graham crackers on the wax paper. You’ll need two for the engine, four for the cars and two for the caboose. Then, mix up the icing using food coloring to get the desired color for your train. You can use red, green, blue or any other color of your choice. Once the icing is ready, spread it on the graham crackers with a knife or spoon. Then, add the candy pieces for the decorations.

Once the decorations are done, it’s time to assemble the train. Start by stacking the engine and the cars one on top of the other. Using icing, glue the graham crackers together and make sure they are firmly attached. Then, attach the caboose to the back of the train. If you want, you can also add small toy figures to the cars to make the train look even more interesting.

Once the train is completely assembled, it’s time to enjoy the fun! You can place it on the kitchen table or on a shelf as a decoration. You can also take it to a party, or your kids can take it to school for show-and-tell.

Tips and Tricks:

If you are making this craft with small children, it’s best to supervise them while they are working. Make sure that the icing and the candy pieces are not eaten before they are added to the graham crackers. You can always add more decorations to the train, such as small toy figures, if you like.

You can also use other ingredients to decorate the Graham Cracker Train. For example, you can use chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, licorice strings, gummy bears, etc. Be creative and have fun!

Making a Graham Cracker Train craft is a great way to spend quality time with your family. It’s an easy and fun activity that you and your kids will surely enjoy. So, why not give it a try and create your own Graham Cracker Train?
