Origami Cheetah: A Fun, Easy Craft

Origami, the art of folding paper, is an enjoyable and creative activity. Origami animals are a great way to show off your folding skills and have become increasingly popular over the years. One of the favorite origami animals is the cheetah. This beautiful, graceful animal is surprisingly easy to create in paper form. Follow the instructions below to learn how to make an origami cheetah.

Materials Needed

To make an origami cheetah, you will need a square piece of paper. It can be any color or size, but the larger the paper, the larger the cheetah will be. Don’t worry if you don’t have origami paper, any type of paper will do. You will also need a pair of scissors and a pencil.

Step 1: Folding the Paper

Start by folding the paper in half to make a triangle. Then, fold the triangle in half again to make a smaller triangle. Unfold the paper, and then fold the left and right corners to meet at the center. Unfold the paper again, and then fold the top and bottom corners to meet at the center. Unfold the paper one final time, and you should have a “star” shape.

Step 2: Making the Cheetah Head

Fold the bottom point of the star up to meet the opposite point. Then, fold the sides of the triangle inwards to make the cheeks. This will form the head of the cheetah.

Step 3: Forming the Ears, Nose, and Tail

Next, use a pair of scissors to cut a small triangle out of the top of the head. This will be the cheetah’s ears. Then, cut a small triangle out of the bottom of the head. This will be the cheetah’s nose. Finally, cut a small triangle out of the back of the head. This will be the cheetah’s tail.

Step 4: Drawing the Face

Using a pencil, draw two small eyes and a small mouth on the cheetah’s face. Then, draw two small triangles on the top of the head to create the ears. Finally, draw a small triangle on the bottom of the head to create the nose.

Step 5: Finishing Touches

To give the cheetah a more realistic look, fold the tail upwards and draw small lines along the back of the cheetah. You can also add small details such as whiskers, if desired.

Conclusion

Creating an origami cheetah is a fun and easy craft that anyone can do. With a few simple materials, you can make your own origami cheetah in no time. Follow the instructions above to learn how to make an origami cheetah. Happy folding!
