Bring the Stars a Little Closer to Home With This Fun Space Suncatcher Craft

Suncatchers are a great way to bring a bit of color and sparkle into your home. This craft is especially fun for those who are fascinated with space, and it’s a great craft for all ages. With a few simple materials, you’ll be able to construct a beautiful suncatcher to catch the light and show off your stellar style.

Before you begin, you’ll need to gather your materials. You’ll need a pair of scissors, a piece of wax paper, string, a few glittery star-shaped confetti, a piece of black cardstock, and a sheet of clear contact paper. Once you’ve got everything you need, you can start crafting!

Step 1: Make a Template

Start by cutting out a star shape from the black cardstock. This star will serve as a template for the wax paper stars. Place the star on the wax paper and cut out several more stars. The more stars you make, the denser your suncatcher will be. Once you’ve cut out all of your stars, set them aside.

Step 2: Add the Confetti

Next, you’ll want to add a bit of sparkle to your suncatcher. Take the star-shaped confetti and sprinkle it onto the wax paper stars. You can use as much or as little confetti as you’d like. Just make sure to evenly distribute it onto all of the stars.

Step 3: Cover with Clear Contact Paper

Once you’ve added the confetti, it’s time to cover your stars with clear contact paper. Peel the backing off of the contact paper and press the stars onto it. Make sure to press down firmly so that the stars are secured in place. Once you’ve done this, cut around the stars with a pair of scissors. Discard the excess contact paper.

Step 4: Add the String

Now that your stars are complete, you can add a bit of string to the top of each one. Take your string and make a loop at the top of each star. Secure the loop in place with a piece of tape. Once this is done, you can hang your suncatcher in a bright spot and enjoy its beauty!

Creating this space suncatcher craft is a fun way to bring a little bit of the universe into your home. This craft is simple enough for children of all ages, and it’s sure to bring a sparkle to any room. All you need is some wax paper, confetti, and contact paper to make this stellar suncatcher. You’ll be sure to love the results!
