Origami is the art of paper folding. Origami heart cards are a great way to show someone special how much you care. Whether you make them for a birthday, an anniversary, or just to say “I love you”, these cards are sure to make a lasting impression. Making an origami heart card is surprisingly easy and only requires a few simple materials. Read on to learn how to make an origami heart card!

Gather Materials

The materials you will need to make an origami heart card are: one sheet of origami paper measuring 6 inches by 6 inches, a pair of scissors, a pen, and a piece of paper or cardstock to serve as the card base. Origami paper is available in craft stores and online, and is sold in a variety of colors and patterns. If you don’t have origami paper, you can use regular printer paper, but the results may not be as striking.

Fold the Origami Paper

Once you have all the materials, it’s time to start folding the origami paper. Begin by laying the paper flat on a clean surface. Fold the paper in half diagonally, then unfold. Next, fold the top two corners in to meet the center crease, then unfold. Now, fold the bottom two corners up to meet the center crease, and unfold. Finally, fold the paper in half again along the diagonal crease.

Create the Heart

Now that the paper is folded, it is time to create the heart shape. Start by folding the top corner down to the center crease. Then, fold the bottom corner up to meet the center crease. Finally, fold the paper in half along the center crease. Voila! You have created a heart shape.

Add the Message

The next step is to add your message to the card. Use a pen to write your message on the card base, or if you prefer, you can print out a message and glue it to the base. Once your message is added, place the folded origami heart on top of the card base and secure with a piece of tape.

Final Touches

Now that your origami heart card is complete, it’s time to add some final touches. You can decorate the card with stickers, ribbon, glitter, or anything else you can think of. You can also add a special touch by writing a personalized note inside the card. When you’re finished, your origami heart card is ready to give to someone special!
