How to Create a Snowman Candy Jar Craft

Creating a snowman candy jar craft is a fun way to not only decorate for the winter season, but also to display your favorite treats. With a few simple materials, even a novice crafter can make a cute snowman candy jar that is sure to be a hit with family and friends. This type of craft is perfect for kids to help make too! Read on to learn more about how to create a snowman candy jar craft.

Gathering Supplies

Before you get started on your snowman candy jar craft, make sure you have all the supplies you need. You will need a clean, empty jar with a lid, a piece of felt in a light color, some white acrylic paint, a paintbrush, a piece of black felt, a piece of red felt, scissors, a hot glue gun and some glue sticks, and of course, some candy.

Painting the Jar

Once you have all your supplies, you can begin crafting your snowman candy jar. Start by painting the jar white with the white acrylic paint and the paintbrush. Make sure to paint the lid as well. Allow the paint to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Making the Snowman Face

To make the face of your snowman, cut out two circles from the black felt. The circles should be close in size, but one can be slightly bigger than the other. Hot glue the circles to the lid of the jar, with the bigger circle slightly overlapping the smaller circle. Cut two small triangles from the red felt, and hot glue them beneath the circles for the snowman’s eyes. Cut a small piece of black felt in the shape of a carrot, and glue it to the center of the two circles for the snowman’s nose.

Making the Hat

To make the snowman’s hat, cut a circle from the light-colored felt that is slightly larger than the circumference of the lid. Cut a smaller circle from the felt, and then cut a slit in the larger circle and slip it over the smaller circle. Hot glue the circles together and then glue the hat to the top of the lid, covering the snowman’s face.

Adding the Finishing Touches

Once you have the snowman’s face and hat in place, it’s time to add the finishing touches. Cut a piece of felt in the shape of a scarf and glue it around the neck of the jar. You can also add a small pom-pom or other embellishments to the hat if desired. Finally, fill the jar with your favorite candy and put the lid back on. Your snowman candy jar craft is now complete and ready to be displayed!

Conclusion

Creating a snowman candy jar craft is a great way to add a festive touch to your home for the winter season. With just a few simple supplies, you can make a fun and creative candy jar that is sure to be a hit with family and friends. Your snowman candy jar craft is sure to be a fun and easy project for both adults and children alike. So don’t wait, gather your supplies and get crafting!
